Landmarks across Perth have been lit up in Gold to mark tickets going on sale to the general public for the Trans-Tasman double-header on Saturday 10 August 2019 at Optus Stadium.
Tickets go on sale this morning (Friday 26 October) at 9am AWST and are expected to be in hot demand as fans from across Australia and New Zealand snap up the opportunity to be at the first Bledisloe Cup Test in Perth.
Beginning last night and repeated each night until Saturday 27 October, Perth’s iconic sites of Elizabeth Quay, Yagan Square, Trafalgar Bridge, East Perth, Perth Council House, Optus Stadium and Matagarup Bridge will be a site to behold as they are emblazed in Wallabies and Wallaroos gold.
Rugby Australia has partnered with Tourism Western Australia to light up the city to celebrate the historic Rugby event, which will feature the Qantas Wallabies against the New Zealand All Blacks Beldisloe Cup Test and the women’s Test between the Buildcorp Wallaroos and New Zealand Black Ferns.
Fans have been quick to snap up tickets during the exclusive pre-sale period, highlighting the demand for one of the Qantas Wallabies two final domestic Test matches before the team departs for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Rugby Australia Chief Executive, Raelene Castle said: “Rugby Australia is proud to be partnering with Tourism Western Australia in lighting up the city of Perth to mark this International event coming to the West in 2019.
“It is another fantastic initiative that will create a high level of excitement for a historic day next year when the Buildcorp Wallaroos and Qantas Wallabies take on their New Zealand rivals.
“Australians and New Zealanders are passionate about their national teams and I know fans from both countries will be excited about attending this historic event and enjoying everything Western Australia has to offer.
“Optus Stadium already has the reputation of one of the best venues to watch sport in Australia and we are expecting an incredible atmosphere when the two nations come together on August 10 next year."
