Waratah flyhalf Will Harrison has experienced a far from stock standard pathway to Wallaby Gold given that he was educated at a non-GPS, rugby league playing school. Nonetheless, the 15 man game has always been in his blood - his dad Mark played in the Randwick colts side that won the 1984 premiership - and Marcellin College, his alma mater, is less than five minutes from the famed Coogee Oval.
It says much for his ability that Harrison earned selection for the Australian Schools Barbarians (2016) and the Australian Schoolboys (2017) despite not playing rugby at Marcellin. As if to emphasise the point, Harrison went on to play two seasons for the Australian U20s.
In 2020 Harrison made his Super Rugby debut against the Crusaders. He steadily grew into the chief playmaker role over the course of the disrupted season, one in which he stamped himself as a goal-kicker of the highest order. Harrison converted 50 of his 58 attempts to finish with a impressive success rate of 86%.
