The Wallabies are delighted to announce Melbourne product Rob Leota has re-signed with the Rebels and Rugby Australia for a further two seasons, until the end of 2023.

The powerful forward, who can feature as a lock or a backrower, made his debut for the Victorian-based Super Rugby side as an 18-year-old back in 2016 and has gone on to represent his boyhood club 38 times.

A member of the Junior Wallabies squad in the same year he made his Super Rugby debut, the 24-year-old had a breakout season in 2021, recognised with his first call-up to the senior national playing group as part of Dave Rennie's squad for the upcoming French Test series.

Rebels and Wallabies forward Rob Leota said: “I'm stoked to be able to commit my future to the Rebels and to the Wallabies."

“It's great to see the Burn Boys presence increasing at the Rebels, as more and more locals join the team and we continue to represent our local clubs and community with pride.

"I'm enjoying my time here in Wallabies camp so far and am learning a lot of both the coaching staff and the other players in the squad."

Wallabies Head Coach Dave Rennie said: "Rob is a good young man, who has big future ahead of him and we're really pleased he's committed to Australian Rugby."

"He was great for the Rebels in Super Rugby this year, his physicality on both sides of the ball a real feature of his game.

"His attitude has been impressive since coming into camp and he's putting in a lot of hard work with the group here in Queensland."

Tickets are on sale now for the Wallabies three Test eToro Series against France, with two matches in Brisbane, split by one in Melbourne on July 7, 13 and 17 respectively.  For tickets, visit to wallabies.rugby.
