The Wallabies begin their Autumn Nations series against England at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

The Wallabies are eager to get their end-of-year tour back on track as they prepare for a physical encounter against Italy.

The Australians have swapped the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and London for comparatively quieter scenes in Udine, 90 minutes north of Venice towards the Slovenian border.

The town, with just under 100,000 people, has been the perfect place for the Wallabies to regroup ahead of Sunday’s clash with the ever-improving hosts, who showed their class earlier in the year after pushing Ireland all the way in the Six Nations.

“It's a really old sort of town or city and we've really enjoyed it," Wilson told reporters.

“There’s been a lot of time for us all to connect. No one's really got mates here, no one's really done too much travelling, so we've all just stayed together and just built on the connections we've built over the last four or five months.

“We’ve really enjoyed our week here and we're really excited for this weekend.”

Front of the mind for Wilson has been Luke Cowan-Dickie’s late try for England in their 25-7 defeat, with the English launching a rolling maul from outside of the 22 over the tryline.

“Our rolling maul and attack and defence has honestly probably been one of our major strengths this year, we've scored a lot of tries and we haven't let in a single try until the weekend which was really disappointing,” he admitted.

“We've learned from that mistake and we're definitely going to make sure something like that never happens again.

“It definitely hurt us as a forward pack but we've learned from it, we're going to keep improving and we want to go out there and put them under pressure in the ruling mall and both sides of the ball because we do believe it's a strength of ours.”

With matches against Ireland and France to follow, Wilson was confident victory could set them up for a late burst against two top-five-ranked teams.

“We need to go out there and put a good performance in this weekend,” the number eight added.

“This year's been a lot of up and downs, we want to get back on the tracks and heading in the right direction and putting a strong performance in this weekend will be the start of that for us,

“We’re very motivated to do that and we've got a lot of belief in this group that we can do that so there's a lot of excitement building in this group for tomorrow night.”
