In the 127-year history of the Wallabies, no second-rower had ever scored a hat-trick. Enter Josh Canham.
Canham etched his name in history during Saturday's 57-10 win over Italy with a trio of short-range efforts.

It's a milestone the Reds lock was unaware of in the moment, but was quick to deflect praise after the thumping victory.
"It's pretty cool but definitely wouldn't be scoring any of those tries without the forward pack today," a humble Canham said post-game. "Really good team performance and I was lucky to get on the end of some good pick and goes.
"I wasn't really thinking about [the hat-trick], just my next job, but when they told me post-game, I was very surprised, didn't realise that no one's ever done it before.
"Three metres, three tries, so very lucky there. Just appreciative of the whole forward pack and the team tonight because it was a good team performance."
It's the first hat-trick for the Wallabies since Tom Wright and Matt Faessler's dual hat-tricks against Wales in 2024.
On that day, Faessler became the first hooker to reach the milestone, bonding the two Reds tight-five members.
It makes it four tries in three games for Canham, who hadn't started a game for the Wallabies before the Nations Championship.
"I think I've been in and around the squad for quite a while now, even though I haven't been playing, so I know the system pretty well. I think I've been itching for a chance to wear the jersey, so now I've got it, I want to do everything I can to stay in it," he said
The win ends a six-match losing streak for the side, with relief the overriding feeling for Canham and the team.
"I think we've put in a lot of hard work the past three weeks and it's been frustrating to not get the results in the second half the past two weeks," he said.
"Putting in a performance like that today, yeah, it's such a good thing to be able to lead our coaches like that."
