Australia A have blown Japan XV off the park with a 71-7 demolition in Osaka.

Japan coach Eddie Jones watched on as Simon Cron's men dominated all aspects for the majority of the 80 minutes, with former Wallabies assistant Neal Hatley taking charge of Japan XV.

"Our boys took it really seriously when they put on that gold jersey representing their country, and I felt like they did a really great job over the last week in their preparation and you can see how professional they are on the field," Cron said.

With nine capped Wallabies in the side, several Test hopefuls took their chance to make a statement, none more than lock Darcy Swain and flyhalf Ben Donaldson.

Swain bulldozed the Japanese, scoring two of the first three tries as the visitors piled on the points early.

The Western Force lock also stole two lineouts close to the line, with Australia A particularly lethal at set-piece to create and maintain dominance.

This was evident in the 16th minute when fullback Mac Grealy created a break from inside their 22 for Teddy Wilson, Wilson finding Josh Canham, as the second-rower linked up with his lock partner Swain for his second.

Grealy was superb at the back, scoring four minutes earlier as he broke clear of the defence and kept his body in to score in the corner.

Flyhalf Donaldson was in command, setting up several tries as winger Tim Ryan got in on the action with a great one-two effort alongside Joey Walton for a well-worked try.

Fullback Yoshitaka Yazaki delights the home crowd with a stellar run to get Japan XV on the board.

But it was all Australia A heading into half-time, taking a 33-7 lead into the sheds thanks to a try to Teddy Wilson.

They didn’t let off after the break thanks to Luke Reimer, with captain Matt Faessler crossing for a well deserved try after several massive carries to set up try-scoring opportunities.

Japan XV were left all at sea, with Yazaki sitting down for ten for a professional foul before Faessler’s try.

Prop Rhys van Nek brought up the half century as not even a red card to Ollie Sapsford for a high shot slowed them down.

Replacement Ethan Dobbins delivered a filthy offload to set up Henry Robertson as the Aussies raced the clock following Ben Donaldson’s break and offload for Lington Ieli’s try.

Donaldson continued his late push for a Wallabies recall with a perfect ball out the break for Ryan's second to cap off a near-perfect afternoon.

Australia A 71 (Tries: Swain 2, Grealy, Ryan 2, Wilson, Reimer, Faessler, Scott, Robertson, Ieli; Cons: Donaldson 8/11) def Japan XV 7 (Tries: Yazaki; Cons: Nakakusu 1/1)
