Blake Schoupp
Blake Schoupp is the latest in a long line of talent who have thrived after a move south to the nation's capital. The Southern Districts prop followed in the footsteps of Brumbies captain Allan Alaalatoa after catching the eye of assistant coach Dan Palmer. He was recruited by the club on a train-and-trial basis late last year before earning his way into the full-time squad off the back of some great trial form at the start of 2023. This saw the prop suddenly starting for the Brumbies against home side NSW Waratahs as he instantly impressed incoming coach Eddie Jones. “He is built like a brick s---house isn’t he?” Jones said. “He is perfectly built to be a prop, he scrummages hard, he is hard on the ball and he is one of those guys who has come up the hard way. I feel with an opportunity we may get a bit more out of him.” Schoupp is yet to debut for the Wallabies but showed throughout Super Rugby Pacific that he is a big game player able to step up and match it with the best in the world.
