A recent graduate of rugby nursery St Joseph’s College, Max Jorgensen serves as a testament to schoolboy talent at its finest. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with Jorgensen being the son of former Wallaby and NRL player Peter Jorgensen. Representing the Waratahs Academy at U15, U16 and U18 age levels, the talented outside back spent some time in Nathan Grey’s 2022 Junior Wallabies program before he was selected for the Waratahs Development team later that year. After being brought into the senior squad for the 2023 Super Rugby season, Jorgensen made an electric home ground debut in round one against the Brumbies. Playing the full 80 minutes, Jorgensen scored two tries for the Waratahs, making an immediate name for himself as the emerging young talent of 2023. In April of 2023, Jorgensen was brought into Eddie Jones' first Wallabies training squad, however unfortunately suffered a MCL injury in round 14 of Super Rugby that saw him ruled out of the remainder of the season as well as the U20 World Championships in South Africa. Whilst not being included in any further Wallabies camps, Eddie Jones has staked his faith in Jorgensen for the 2023 Rugby World Cup campaign.
