Tane Edmed is the latest playmaker to work their way into the Wallabies squad.
Edmed followed a different path from father Steve, a tough front-rower for the Balmain Tigers in the NRL.
The gifted sportsman signed with the NSW Waratahs at a young age after impressing for Eastwood, eventually handed his debut in 2021.
2022 was Edmed's breakout year, famously leading the Waratahs to an upset win over the Crusaders at Leichhardt Oval, succumbing to the emotions on the ground where the Edmed name is one of legend.
He went on the Australia A tour of Fiji and battled Ben Donaldson for a spot on the Spring Tour, eventually losing out to his good mate.
From here, Edmed made the Waratahs ten jersey his own and took his game to the next level in 2024 after a stint in New Zealand's NPC with North Harbour.
He led the competition for points, including a 33-point haul against Manawatu, catching the eye of Joe Schmidt to earn a call-up for the Spring Tour
